Bright Pet Friendly Accommodation

Great cabins, caravans and camping in the Ovens Valley on the Great Alpine Road

Bright Pet Friendly Accommodation for Your Next Trip

If you're trying to find bright pet friendly accommodation that doesn't make you choose between a proper holiday and bringing the dog, that's exactly what we've set up here at Bright Accommodation Park. Cabins, caravans, powered sites and unpowered sites, all of it open to pets year round. Not just in the quiet season when nobody's watching. Every single site.

We're right on the edge of Bright, the alpine town everyone calls the gateway to the ski resorts, though most of our guests turn up in a t-shirt, not a puffer jacket. Summer's actually our busiest stretch, with families and dog owners after a base camp for the day rather than the destination itself.

People ask us a lot whether pets need to be on a lead around the park. Yes, they do, and we ask that you keep an eye on them near the pool and playground for the sake of the younger guests running around barefoot. Beyond that, we're not fussy. Bring the kelpie, bring the elderly staffy who needs the shorter walking track, doesn't matter to us.

The walking and riding tracks around the property are the main drawcard for dog owners. Get out early morning before the day heats up and you'll have the track mostly to yourselves, just you, the dog, and whatever birdlife is making noise in the trees. It's a decent stretch of legs for a dog that's been cooped up in the car for hours getting here.

We've got a pool and a playground on site too, so if you've got kids as well as the dog, nobody in the family is left standing around bored. The pool's obviously off limits to pets, but there's plenty of shade nearby if you want to park the dog under a tree while the kids swim.

Bright itself is worth the walk into town. Grab a coffee, wander the main street, and you're close enough to Mount Hotham, Falls Creek and Mount Buffalo that day trips are easy even if you're not here for snow season. Mount Buffalo especially is a good option if you want a change of scenery with the dog, though check current rules before you head up since national parks aren't always pet-friendly the way our own tracks are.

One thing worth mentioning, because we'd rather you know before you book than find out on arrival: not every accommodation type on site suits every pet. A big dog in a small cabin isn't much fun for anyone, dog included. If you're travelling with a larger breed or more than one animal, give us a call and we'll point you toward the right site rather than the wrong one.

That's really the whole pitch. We're not trying to be everything to everyone, we're trying to be a solid, honest option for people who want bright pet friendly accommodation without the fine print getting in the way of the actual holiday. Powered site with a view, cabin with a proper bed, whatever suits your trip, the dog's coming too.
